The Wave – Come Together to Stop Climate Chaos

This December, the world’s governments will meet in Copenhagen to negotiate and decide a global climate deal. This deal is crucial to avoid climate catastrophe.

We must call on the government to deliver a fair and safe deal. A deal that keeps the rise in global temperatures to below 2 degrees Celsius. A deal that supports developing countries in their efforts to cope with the impacts of climate change now and in the future.

Saturday 5th of December at 12 noon, thousands of people from all walks of life will flood the streets of Dublin. Join Ireland’s biggest demonstration against climate change. Join the worldwide wave of millions calling for action. Together, we can send a strong and clear message to our leaders: STOP CLIMATE CHAOS.

Stop Climate Chaos

CLIMATE COUNTDOWN!

Six Months to Copenhagen

Join us on June 13th at 12pm on Sandymount Beach in Dublin for fun and games…

…AND a mass choreographed event to create a giant human hourglass! This event is a call to action that will ask the Irish government to play their part in ensuring that the crucial climate change negotiations in Copenhagen are strong, effective and just.

When: 12pm Saturday June 13th 2009,

Where: Sandymount Strand (meeting at Martello Tower), Dublin.

Why: To raise awareness about climate change and the pivotal UN negotiations in Copenhagen in December 2009

To call on the Irish Government to show leadership and to play their part in securing a strong, just global deal on climate change and commit to climate protection legislation in Ireland.

 The action:

A mass choreographed action on the beach where people spell out a message by holding pieces of paper above their heads.
Once the large group has assembled, our choreographer will direct people into positions on the beach to spell out key messages about climate change
In keeping with tone of a fun day out we are also going to provide entertainment such as music, face painting and other activities
Who: Stop Climate Chaos is a coalition of civil society organisations campaigning to ensure Ireland plays its part in preventing runaway climate change
