An Annual walk organised by the Committee for the Commemoration of Irish Famine Victims took place in Dublin on Sunday, May 15th. The Walkers were prevented from starting the walk at the Garden of Remembrance, however, due to intense security in advance of the visit of Queen Elizabeth. Only two members of the Committee, led by a lone piper, were permitted to begin their walk from inside the security barrier at Parnell Square, which usually begins at the Garden of Remembrance.
